Dancing with the Stars

The night began with a group performance featuring the stars, pros and troupe members from this season.

Lady Antebellum performed while Kym Johnson, Dmitry Chaplin, Peta Murgatroyd and Val Chmerkovskiy danced.

Each of the 3 contestants were told to pick one of their previous dances and dance again trying to improve their score.  Ricki Lake and Derek Hough chose to redance their tango from movie week.

Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke chose to redance their foxtrot dedicated to Rob’s father.

J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff redanced their jive.

It was then announced that the couple in third place was Ricki Lake and Derek Hough.

Each couple danced twice tonight – one ballroom and one freestyle routine.

First to dance their ballroom was Ricki Lake and her partner Derek Hough.  They danced a chacha and earned 27 points.

Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke danced a waltz and earned 27 points.

J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff danced a chacha and earned 24 points.

Ricki and Derek were first to dance freestyle.   They earned 27 points.

Rob and Cheryl danced a freestyle which received 30 points.

J.R. and Karina danced freestyle and earned 30 points.

The music guest this week was Cobra Starship.  Dancing was Kym Johnson, Tristan MacManus, Sharna Burgess and Sonny Pederson.

This week the Macy’s Stars of Dance performance was the design a dance fan performance.  Derek Hough and Anna Trebunskaya danced a paso doble.

The Spotlight performance this week featured Kyle Scanlan, David Guzman, Jacob Guzman, Matt Gilmore, Chelsie Hightower, Lacey Schwimmer, Sharna Burgess and Peta Murgatroyd.

It was then announced that Hope and Maksim had been eliminated.

This week each couple danced 3 times: twice individually and once in a chacha relay.

First up was Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy.  They danced a paso doble 21 points.

J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff danced a paso doble earning 23 points.

Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke danced a samba earning 28 points.

Ricki Lake and Derek Hough danced a samba earning a perfect 30.

DWTS pros (Tony Dovolani, Kym Johnson, Kiki Nyemchek, Sasha Faber, Oksana Dmytrenko, Anna Trebunskaya) and Sandor and Parissa then performed an argentine tango.

Hope and Maks then danced their argentine tango earning 24 points.

J.R. and Karina danced an argentine tango earning 27 points.

The female pro dancers (Cheryl Burke, Kym Johnson, Karina Smirnoff, Lacey Schwimmer, Peta Murgatroyd, Anna Trebunskaya, Oksana Dmytrenko, Sharna Burgess and Dasha Chesnokova) opened the show.

The DWTS Troupe (Oksana Dmytrenko, Christopher “Kiki” Nyemchek, Sasha Farber, Sharna Burgess, Dasha Chesnokova, Ted Volynets) dances while Andrea Bocelli and Chris Botti sang.

The Macy’s Stars of Dance performance was the cast from the Michael Jackson Cirque du Soleil show.

It was announced that the couple eliminated was Nancy Grace and Tristan Macmanus.

This week each couple danced twice – one regular dance and one instant dance.

The first up were Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke. They danced a a quickstep and received 27 points.

Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy also danced a quickstep earning them 27 points.

Ricki Lake and Derek Hough danced a waltz earning 28 points.

Nancy Grace and Tristan Macmanus danced a tango and received 24 points.

J.R.Martinez and Karina Smirnoff danced a waltz and received 30 points.

Rob and Cheryl then performed their instant jive and received 24 points giving them a total of 51.

Hope and Maks danced an instant jive and received 25 points giving them…

The music guest this week was Justin Bieber.  He sang “Fa La La” with Boyz II Men while Mark Ballas and Chelsie Hightower (SYTYCD 4) danced.

Derek Hough and Allison Holker (SYTYCD2, SYTYCD All-Star) danced an argentine tango which they choreographed together.

The AT&T Spotlight performance this week was an inspirational story about a young girl who overcame illness.  The dancer was Victoria-Rose Viren.

The couple sent home was David Arquette and Kym Johnson.

This week the theme was of course Halloween.

The evening started with a dance from David Arquette and Kym Johnson.  They danced a chacha which received 24 points.

J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff danced a tango which earned 25 points.

Nancy Grace and Tristan Macmanus danced a jive which received 21 points.

Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke danced a tango a earned 25 points.

The results episode this week continued in the Broadway theme.

The show included a performance from Mark Ballas and Lacey Schwimmer in an early Halloween celebration.  The routine was choreographed by Lacey.

Martina McBride performed while Val Chmerkovskiy and Chelsie Hightower danced.

The Macy’s Stars of Dance this week was Corbin Bleu in a New York themed Broadway medley made up of42nd St, West Side Story, and In the Heights (which Bleu was actually in during the show’s run).  The routine was choreographed by Kenny Ortega.

Kristin Chenoweth performed Lessons Learned while Tony Dovolani and Dasha Chesnokova danced.

The couple going home was Lacey Schwimmer and Chaz Bono.

I am usually the first to complain about theme weeks on DWTS….but not this week!  The theme this week was Broadway and I loved it!

The show opened with a performance from the cast of Broadway’s Sister Act.

Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke danced a chacha to a song from Jersey Boys.  They received 22 points.

 Nancy Grace and Tristan Macmanus danced a  foxtrot to a song from Spamalot.  They earned 24 points.

David Arquette and Kym Johsnon danced a quickstep to a song from Grease.  They earned 23 points.
